Backpacking Batangas

Batangas has so much to offer, from mountains to climb with breathtaking views above, to beaches where you can just bum around , to diving spots that'll fulfill you mermaid dreams , to cultural sites for your patriotic soul, and of course, the mouthwatering foods, especially seafood and Batangas Lomi. Plus it's just a few hours away from Manila, perfect for a quick breather.

Here's the itinerary of our 4 days of backpacking Batangas for only P4000

Ps. I didn't took lot of photos, just wanna live in the moment. This is more of a travel kwento rather than a photo travel diary.

We stumble upon a group of giddy teenagers who were drinking buko juice at a rest stop.  Then one person from the group threw the plastic cup he used near where I am sitting. I didn't see him though but I saw the cup being thrown at the bushes. I didn't bother that it was raining,  I picked up his trash and put it on the garbage bag of Ate Tindera. Everyone from the group stared at me and silence (and shame, I hope) took them over haist. Dearest hikers, please give respect to our majestic mountains, let us be responsible enough to keep our trashes and throw them at the right garbage bins/bags.

11:30-1:00pm= Lunch
1:00-2:00pm = Snorkeling P100

I've tried diving and snorkeling at Palawan, Boracay, Cebu, Dumaguete and ohhh boy this one is definitely on my top list . It is one of the most beautiful coral reef natural park that I've seen, it really  is jaw-dropping. This activity is so cheap but the feels down there is priceless. It is somewhat like that of the Manta Ray Wing Dive Ride in Anilao except we were clinging by the boat's katig not a glider and we were pulled by the boat itself and not a jetski.

2:00-2:30pm= Kwentuhan, tawa, and kain with some local boatmen.
2:30-4:30pm = Masasa Beach shore clean-up.

Masasa beach is known for its crystal clear water, fine sand, hidden lagoon pool, and yes it  is indeed a paradise. But because of irresponsible tourists and poor local regulations, this gem is becoming polluted and tainted. I am really saddened by what I saw, its 1 kilometer stretch of beauty has been stained. There are garbage all over the camp sites and even at the shoreline, literally there are litter everywhere. So for two hours we tried to pick up all the trashes that we can, some locals joined us, but for a few minutes only hahahaaaay.  Some boatmen even approached us , they were insisting to give us free snorkeling and island hopping tour as a sign of appreciation (kinilig ako dun), but we refused . The coral reefs and sea wonders might soon be destroyed and killed because of those garbage huhuhu sobrang nakakaiyak. The situation there was really hurtful. Some tourists even teased us while we're doing the clean-up. So I went near their tent, I didn't talked to them nor look at their ugly faces/souls haha (sorry not sorry) and just  picked up their trashes and throw it at the garbage bin just near the back of their tent, and again, silence took them over. Shame on them!!!
Ganyan ako mangbitch, yung tipong makokonsenysa ka at mahihiya sa pinagagawa mo. Sobrang mabait akong tao, pero wag niyo ako inaano, gagantihan ko kayo by doing good hanggang lamunin kayo ng konsensya niyo. Ganyan ako pumatol!!! Agit na ako guys, sorry haha.

4:30-9:00pm=  Beach bum, unli kwento ,and kain with the Pursigidos and some locals.
*Overnight camping is not allowed anymore. Use of tents are only allowed 'till 7pm.
*Electricity at the island is available from 6 am to 12mn only, so make sure to prep yourself  for bed and charge your gadgets early.
9:00-11:00= Bonding with Mang Danny's family

 Day 4

Magswiswim pa sana kami sa lagoon haha but sleep is life. We woke up late, again!
 9:45-10am=Trike to Tingloy Port (P40)
10:00-11:00am= Boat back to Anilao Port (P80)
11:00-11:45am= Jeep to Batangas City, alight at intersection going to Taal (P35)
11:45-12:30nn= Jeep to Taal (P35)
12:30-1:30pm= Lunch (P120)
*Halo-halo at the Car Wash .This one is so good it taste like Razon's.

From Taal we hired a trike going to San Nicolas (P100). We were planning to trek Taal Volcano, but we were not allowed to sail by the local govt. Sea posture during that time was bad. For safer and more enjoyable Taal Volcano trip, they advised us to do this early in the morning. Next time then! Plus it's easier if you'll be coming from Talisay Batangas.

1:30pm onward= Taal heritage town tour and museum hopping

Taal Cathedral

Our Lady of Caysasay Church
Sacred Well of Sta. Lucia

Apacible Museum
Agoncillo Museum

Agoncillo Mansion

Villavicencio Wedding Gift House (P70)

5:30-6:30pm= Dinner (P80)

6:30-6:45pm= Trike to Lemery (P20)

I guess the lesser I took photos, the more I enjoyed a trip. Say halu to my fave travel buddies, my pursigidos.
